Masquerade

DSC00578 Since yesterday was a quiet Sunday at home, I opened up a package of masks my sister had mailed up some time past. The girls were entranced, especially youngest who was disappointed I wouldn’t let her wear one to school today.

I find the masks particularly appropriate as I am now in the somewhat embarrassing position of having a paper proposal relating to masquerades, which I never thought would be accepted at this particular conference, given the green light by organizers. The research which I’d put on the back burner, all of a sudden is priority one and I’m requesting books on interlibrary loan at a terrific rate. Will I have enough on this to deliver a preliminary version of the talk on February 7th? Stay tuned!
