I think that eldest’s super-extended birthday can finally call it quits now. We had her birthday party today. Three friends came over for an ostensibly Harry Potter themed bash. The ostensible is because it is now impossible to find Harry Potter themed merchandise in our town except for one copy of a “Goblet of Fire” poster. So we worked around it: they painted their own “House shirts” (Hanes’ small t-shirts and fabric markers); spent over an hour tackling a fiendish Monster Maze whose reusable laminated design promises lots of fun return matches. And then there was a couple hours spent simply sitting around and watching the fourth movie, capped by a run around the yard, playing with a water squirter birthday present despite the chilly temperatures.

Yeah, pretty good times.
