New Toy

This week I received a new toy. I call it “not an iPod” in that I have to explain to anyone whom I show it that it is a digital music player but it is not an iPod.

It’s a Samsung YP-MT6 with 1GB of memory (holding a fair chunk of my music collection at once). And it’s very cool! And it’s very small. So small, for instance, that it’s spent a fair bit of the past week on my desk here at home and neither child has noticed it! (The rest of the time it’s either been looped around my neck, tucked in a pocket or carefully stowed in a small carrying case.)

And it functions as a thumb drive on steroids which is good. I can transfer even larger files back and forth between work, now. That is, when I’m not listening to music!

Cool! A non-ipod is good! Keep us posted about whether you continue to like this little guy - I’m in the market for 3 more non-ipods and this was on my list to consider!

We got a much smaller version of that for Geeky Girl. She had wanted a pink iPod, but that was too expensive a toy for a 6 year old. I’ve actually used it a couple of times. I like the FM radio feature.

Well, I have iPod envy — but this is also very kewl!
