I've been playing online fantasy games for years now: first Everquest where I enjoyed exploring all the wonders of Norrath with many different characters over three years. More recently, I've been playing in the realms of Dark Age of Camelot or DAoC (my second go at the game world) and greatly enjoy the new zones of Shrouded Isles.
What I like about online fantasy roleplaying games (or MMoRPGs to use their lingo) is the chance to take a break from my normal life for even just a few minutes here or there. DAoC is particularly well-suited to the casual gamer (or the gaming mom whose kids don't sleep soundly in the few evening hours I have to play). I'm a virtual trade skill fanatic and my DAoC characters have pursued armourcrafting, spellcrafting, tailoring and alchemy.
To get a feel for what the online gaming life is like, check out my picture gallery, read my journals above or chuckle at my favourite Everquest funnies.
